The question I get asked the most is: “So, when’s the next trip?” Most who know me aren’t surprised that I always have an answer.
Since childhood, I’ve been fascinated by other places, languages and peoples. My make-believe often took place in distant places, whether we were in Paris museums, chasing spies in Russia or digging holes in the sand to Kathmandu (the latter two places I still have yet to visit). My mother would read to me about the ancient civilizations of Egypt, Rome, Greece and the Maya. And the most wondrous real-life place I occasionally got to visit was the home of a world-travelling family friend. His home was a treasure-trove Indiana Jones would admire: tastefully brimming with beautiful pieces from his encounters all over the globe.
Since becoming an adult, I’ve tried to maintain a balance between quenching a thirst for the wander and staying near my close-knit, grounded family while trying to carve out my own little path in this life.
This website is meant to share that little path with anyone else approaching an intersection or a parallel and hoping to learn what’s been done.
